1947, Movie, NR, 72 mins

Though plenty of real-life footage was supplied by the Air-Sea Rescue Service, nothing could bail out this boring film. The plot concerns a generalized cast of characters thrown together in a life raft after their plane goes down in the ocean. Two have been interned in a Japanese prison camp, one is a ranking Japanese official on his way to trial, two are pilots and one is a nurse. Of course some of the characters break down and panic, while others get stronger and keep the crew together until help arrives. The supposed climax occurs when a power boat is dropped from a plane to the stranded survivors. leave a comment
