Craig and Jenks are cons who escape from the infamous "Rock" and find their way to a lighthouse off San Francisco Bay. The two soon discover that their hideout is also a haven for Nazi spies who are preparing a U-boat attack on San Francisco. The two cons are convinced by the lighthouse
owner, Cleveland, and his daughter, Granville, that they must stop the spies from getting information to one of their subs. Craig and Jenks forego their freedom, and Craig brawls with the Nazis while Jenks sends for a naval patrol. This was director Dmytryk's first film for RKO and shows why he
became one of the studio's top directors.
