The fifth and last version of the Earl Derr Biggers novel about a writer who must finish his novel in 24 hours and sets up shop in the remote Baldpate Inn to do it. But peace and quiet are not to be found for Terry. He's made a bet with the inn's owner that he'll finish the book, so the owner sets out to make sure he doesn't, though White, the owner's secretary, tries to be as helpful to Terry as her boss is not.
