Marvin is about to be executed for being a traitor to his country. Miles is the persistent wife who thinks her husband's trial was handled wrong and convinces prosecutor Dillman to conduct a personal investigation. After checking Marvin's story that he was sent behind enemy lines by a general who has since died, Nolan grants a stay of execution and appoints Dillman to defend Marvin. Dillman falls in love with Miles, causing Marvin to lose his temper at the trial. Two witnesses testify against Marvin, who tells those present that he received better treatment from the enemy. However, it is proven the dead leader frequently gave secret orders, and Marvin is acquitted. At the same time, Miles decides to stay with her husband. The film originally was presented on NBC TV's "Kraft Suspense Theater" as a two-part episode titled "The Case against Paul Ryker" in 1963. Footage was expanded somewhat for the film version. leave a comment
