Marvin is about to be executed for being a traitor to his country. Miles is the persistent wife who thinks her husband's trial was handled wrong and convinces prosecutor Dillman to conduct a personal investigation. After checking Marvin's story that he was sent behind enemy lines by a general who has since died, Nolan grants a stay of execution and appoints Dillman to defend Marvin.
