Hudson is a graduate of West Point assigned to an outpost near the Everglades because of his expertise in both the area and the local Seminole Indians. Upon arriving at his new position the lieutenant looks up Hale, his girl friend from childhood, who is now in love with Quinn. Quinn, leader of the Seminoles, was also a boyhood friend of Hudson's.
