In a small prairie town in Saskatchewan a young boy must confront death when he sees each of his beloved pets and finally his father pass away. The story has some interesting moments, backed by gorgeous photography and good support from a wonderful assortment of character actors. But the film is troubled by a tedious episodic development and a wavering score.
