Granger plays a London shipping tycoon being blackmailed by Bird, an evil dentist who threatens to expose the businessman's former conviction for embezzlement. Granger pays, but his wife Harareet wonders why the family bank account is dwindling. Granger refuses to discuss it, so Harareet decides that there's another woman and leaves him. Meanwhile, Bird is visited by a mysterious hooded man who tells the dentist that his blackmail scheme will be exposed unless he obtains the combination to Granger's office safe. Bird gets Granger in his dentist chair, drugs him, and extracts the proper numbers. The safe is robbed, and Scotland Yard suspects Granger. Granger escapes and forces Bird to confess. This is good enough for the police, but they also suspect Harareet's new lover as Bird's accomplice. Granger confesses that he was the hooded stranger and it was he and Harareet who stole the money. leave a comment
