A strange picture that fictionalizes the early years of famed pscyhoanalyst Sigmund Freud, here portrayed by Cort. The jokes come mainly from the development of his ideas about the human psyche, presented by Shawn as "the ultimate patient." There's even some romance tossed in--Cort has an
affair with a lisping nurse, Kane; Freud's mother, Baker, carries on with demented doctor Kinski. SECRET DIARY is nothing more than a rather sparse series of vignettes that never seem to comprise a whole. It was shown at Cannes, where it was purchased by 20th Century-Fox's subsidiary TLC, then
rightfully vanished from sight and memory.
