Despite fine performances from Lee and Nagel, SECOND WIFE is nothing but an uninspired melodrama that suffers from some contrived scripting. Lee stars as an eligible young lady who chooses to marry widower Nagel instead of Huntley, despite the latter's warnings that she'll never measure up to Nagel's first wife.
