SECOND CHANCE is a 3-D movie with 2-D characterizations. Presenter Howard Hughes decided that the third dimension and stereophonic sound might enhance this typical crime story, and director Mate infused it with all the verve he could, but Mitchum's usual laconic performance worked against anything memorable.
