Second Chance

SECOND CHANCE is a 3-D movie with 2-D characterizations. Presenter Howard Hughes decided that the third dimension and stereophonic sound might enhance this typical crime story, and director Mate infused it with all the verve he could, but Mitchum's usual laconic performance worked against anything memorable. It was his last film for RKO (although SHE COULDN'T SAY NO was not released until after this one), and his boredom was evident. Shot in Taxco and Cuernavaca, Mexico, it's the story of two people looking for a second chance in life.
