Sunn Classics was famous for taking popular phenomena like UFOs, Bigfoot, or Noah's Ark sightings and making quick psuedo-documentary dramatizations "exploring" the topic. The films received intense media blitzes and usually turned a nice profit. Here, Sunn pursues the mystery of the Shroud of Turin, with overly serious narration provided by Brad Crandall in what may be one of the cheapest toupees ever worn in Hollywood. John Rubinstein, son of piano virtuoso Athur Rubinstein, plays the son of a different kind of virtuoso here. The theology is wishy-washy, pandering to its intended religious audience with just enough tease to bring a skeptic or two into the theater. leave a comment
