The Sea Wolf

1930, Movie, NR, 87 mins

starstarstarstar
An able adaptation of Jack London's swashbuckling adventure novel about a sea captain (Sills) who battles the voracious appetite of the ocean with one fist and the malevolent Harris with the other, while leaving his heart open for Keith. Michael Curtiz directed the even more spectacular remake in 1941. THE SEA WOLF proved to be the second and last talking feature for Sills, a silent screen actor known for his wide range of roles. Sills died of a heart attack at age 48, the year the film was released. leave a comment
