After having done so many movies, one would have thought Winner might have tired of the Sydney Furie techniques of whip pans, zooms, close-ups, rack focus, jump cuts, and various angle shots, all of which detract from the storytelling. Lancaster is a CIA agent who has arranged for the death of a radical Arab. He and his hired killer, Delon, leave Paris and go to Washington. Lancaster returns to his wife, Linville, and Delon goes to live with Hunnicutt.
