Hinde thinks she was responsible for her father's death several years earlier. Her lonely mother, Asherson, takes on a lover, Mower, and Hinde winds up stabbing him when he tries to molest her. The girl is sent to a reform school where she eventually is seduced by a lesbian who helps her
escape. Hinde looks up her old boy friend, Waterman. Tragedy strikes when she is killed in a car crash. Unique British entry to the women's prison film genre is highlighted by Lipman's moving performance.
