School For Secrets

An absorbing but at times badly flawed actioner detailing the efforts of a group of British scientists to perfect radar at the outset of WW II. Five scientists bicker among themselves over how to achieve their goal, but ultimately they pull together and make the necessary sacrifices to get the job done. Top-billed Richardson plays a meek, slightly eccentric scientist who winds up heading a nighttime test raid over Cologne in order to bomb a German-held radio station. The mission is a success, the Allies have perfected radar, and the reluctant soldier is hailed a hero upon his return to England.
