Scalawag: Review

This directorial debut by veteran actor Douglas was shot in Yugoslavia. In it, Douglas plays the part of a peg-legged pirate whose men bury treasure on an island, then are all killed. The only one who knows the whereabouts of the gold is an alcoholic parrot who isn't telling. Douglas befriends two youngsters he finds, Lester and Down, and together they battle mutinous cutthroats, hostile Indians, and deadly rapids. The Douglas family dog also stars. leave a comment
