SAVED BY THE LIGHT boasts an interesting concept that unfortunately can't be saved from weak direction and a tepid plot line. This fact-based TV movie aired in 1995, and was subsequently released on home video in 1998. South Carolina, 1975. Dannion Brinkley (Eric Roberts), a nasty, violent grocer, is struck by lightning.
