Jungle Jim Weissmuller is called upon by the US and British governments to help remove the natives from a small island that is to be used as an atom bomb testing ground. Enemy agents have other plans, so they coerce the natives to remain so that photographs of the tests may be used as propaganda against the two nations. Of course, Tamba the Chimp, a near relative to Cheetah from Weissmuller's "Tarzan" days, hangs around for moments of comic relief along with Jungle Jim's host of other pets in this exotically campy outing which takes a childish approach to the bleak Cold War situation. Here again, as in most "Jungle Jim" outings in the 12-picture series, ample stock footage from the Columbia Pictures library was used, notably from old Frank Buck travel documentaries. leave a comment
