During a severe drought in Kenya, a guide (Skerritt) saves his former wife, daughter, son, and son's sweetheart from a horde of starving lions that have surrounded them on a plantation. In spite of the excitement promised by this straightforward story, very little of it develops. One of
the few interesting features of the film is the sequence showing how cleverly lions stalk their prey, using what seems like Indian-warfare tactics to surround the plantation and then girding themselves for attack--clearly the work of a skilled animal trainer.
