Taking place almost entirely at the Continental Baths, a New York gay hangout, the story tries to make some headway into the relations between gays and straights. Superstraight piano player Aberdeen gets a job at the nightclub and learns to throw over some of his stereotyped perspectives
toward gays, as his girl friend, Sheppard, pushes him to accept changes. The overly contrived ending has Aberdeen sleeping with a gay, only to have his heterosexuality confirmed. The film's highlights are the female impersonator acts, which offer some great renditions of Diana Ross, Judy Garland,
and Carmen Miranda.
