Lamas is the son of an indentured servant in the Old South. When the owner of a Georgia estate passes away, Lamas inherits the place, helped by the late man's son, Drake. Dahl, the man's daughter, is furious that this freed slave has the plantation. Of course, their differences are resolved, and the fiery woman softens her stance by the picture's end for the eventual marriage.
