Graves plays a nice guy involved with Chandler. Chandler's pregnant and wants to marry her man. But when he defends her honor and accidentally kills the man, he gets five years in the slammer. After Graves is released, Chandler joins the Salvation Army to support the now-slovenly Graves. In the end, he sees the light and joins up with her cause.
