Mediocre drama involves a crooked gang out to swindle some jewelery from under the nose of a visiting grand duke. The title is misleading for there's no underground action. "Sally of the Subway" is simply a character's nickname. There are some okay action scenes, but the threadbare plot
can only go so far on that. Despite the film's weaknesses, it does have some good-looking sets that show a budget not usually found in a film of this quality.
