Lake and Caulfield are a pair of con artists who take a banker for $25,000. They head out of New York City and cross the border to Canada, but a storm forces them to seek shelter and they end up with Fitzgerald. He introduces them around the little town on the Maine-Canada border and gradually the pair reform their ways.
