The Sad Sack

Based on the famous cartoon character, the bumbling hero with two left feet is played by Lewis, only this time he's gifted with a photographic memory. When he throws the whole base he's stationed at into chaos, he's transferred to Morocco to guard the army's new secret weapon. There, Lewis falls in love with cafe singer Montevecchi, but, as usual, he mistakenly believes she wants nothing to do with him. Heartbroken, he deserts the army to join the French Foreign Legion. In typical Lewis fashion, he hooks up with a band of renegade Arabs led by Lorre, who have stolen a weapon but are at a loss as to how to assemble it.
