A slow-mover that relies more on flash than substance. A French doctor (Ferrer) saves a young girl (Gam) under a witch's (Rotha) spell, pitting modern technology against witchcraft. Gam is grateful to the doctor, but her real love is for Wilde. Wilde is too gracious as he realizes that Ferrer is in love with his former patient. While weaving in and out of the romantic tangle, the village is attacked by bandits, with Gam proving smarter than they when she saves the doctor's sought-after serum. Finally, Ferrer realizes where Gam's heart is and gives the pair his approval at the end. leave a comment
