Call it rude, crude and lewd, but you also have to call it very funny. Just when it appeared that the Airplane! team of Zucker, Abrahams and Zucker) might have lost their touch, they offered up this hilarious re-working of O. Henry's classic short story "The Ransom of Red Chief." Danny DeVito plays an unscrupulous garment manufacturer whose plans to knock-off his shrewish wife (Bette Midler) are preempted when she's kidnapped by a desperate young couple (Judge Reinhold, Helen Slater) who threaten to kill her themselves.
