Russian Roulette

Based on Ardies' novel Kosygin Is Coming, this is the story of a plot by angry of the Russian KGB who Kosygin because they feel he is too soft on capitalism. The plot calls for Kosygin to be killed when he visits Canada, precipitating a war. Kosygin is headed for Vancouver, British Columbia, and Segal, an atypical Mountie, is chief of security for the visit. There's a bit of the feeling of DAY OF THE JACKAL in the intent, but not in the execution. Obviously, Kosygin was not killed on his visit, so the film ahs trouble sustaining any tension.
