The Rundown: Review

The Rock will never be accused of being a great actor, but this nutty 2003 rumble in the Amazon jungle shows why he's a star: He puts the hurt on the bad guys with just the right amount of humor. He plays Beck, a "retrieval expert" who's tired of strong-arming weaselly welshers and wants to open his own restaurant. But first he's got to pull that one last job: dragging his boss' wayward son (Seann William Scott) home from some hellish gold-mining town deep in the Brazilian jungle. Before it's over Beck faces off against kick-boxing guerilla rebels, a pack of amorous monkeys and a mine owner (Christopher Walken) who's an insane mix of Colonel Kurtz and Dr. Moreau.
