This zany British film stars comic cockney Shiner as a corporal hoping to get promoted, so he can receive an inheritance. He gets his chance when he dresses as a priest and spends a night out with the vicar's wife, blonde glamor girl Gynt. Before long, however, there are nearly half a
dozen priests running around--some real, some fake. It turns out that one, Farrell, is an escaped convict, and is apprehended by Shiner. The corporal is then promoted and made eligible to receive his inheritance. The crazy antics yield surprisingly few laughs, blame for which must be assigned to
director Arliss, son of the legendary actor George Arliss.
