Widmark is an adventurer and writer who is sought out by reporter Greer. She goes to Mexico hoping to do a story on why Widmark stopped writing, and when she does find him they fall in love. They hop on a plane, which crashes in the Mexican jungles. The couple meet up with two strange men, Howard and Van Eyck, and Widmark discovers that Van Eyck is a wanted Nazi war criminal and Howard a British traitor.
