Run For The Roses

Young Gomez is the stepson of Whitman, the manager of a Kentucky horse farm. The boy wants, more than anything else, a horse of his own. His wish comes true when one of the thoroughbreds gives birth to a colt with a deformed knee and the disgusted owner, Miles, gives it to Gomez. After the horse undergoes surgery Gomez lovingly trains the animal to become a racer and, to the surprise of everyone but the audience, wins the Kentucky Derby.
