Sylvester Stallone fans may be surprised to learn that FIRST BLOOD wasn't the first film to counterpose a troubled Vietnam vet with a narrow-minded small town; Corman and his crew at New World anticipated Rambo by a full year with this film. Benedict stars as a vet wandering through Alabama. When he runs afoul of a local town boss (Johnson) and his goons, he's forced to use violence to defend himself and is later tracked by a kindly sheriff (Farnsworth). leave a comment
