A long-winded, dull movie written by the woman who lived it--Louise Randall Pierson. In 1902, Todd is a determined 12-year-old girl who will never take no for an answer. When her father, Collins, dies, he leaves a small amount of money to take care of his wife, Lockhart, and their daughters, Todd and Cora Sue Collins. About six years later, the girl, now played by Russell, is going to a New Haven business school and planning a career for herself. She meets Woods, a Yale student who is very conservative.
