A husband and wife (Gregory and Gordon) en route to San Diego pay a visit to a junkyard when their car breaks down. The husband becomes a scapegoat for the yard owner (Leder), a dealer in stolen cars who is about to be arrested. To distract attention from himself, Leder pins a charge of auto theft on Gregory.
