Russell is superb in this cliched look at an elderly millionairess whose daughters have put her in a rest home and declared her senile. The daughters are solely interested in getting their grubby hands on her money. Granddaughter Dee, however, is concerned only with Russell's well-being
and enlists the aid of attorney Aherne, an old flame of Russell's. Adapted by Ruth Gordon from a play staged by husband Garson Kanin, the film has all the characteristics that are identified with their later work--including cute, honest, tough old folks who are well aware that they can lay on the
charm.
