This film is based on the life and death of one of Germany's most famous strumpets, Rosemarie Nitribitt. In 1957, after several years of plying her trade, she was found strangled, and her killers were never brought to justice. It was big news in Europe and a fictional account was
instantly written and shot to take advantage of the headlines (the film was released in Europe in 1958). Tiller, playing the title character, is first seen as a street singer. When she learns that music won't make her rich, she soon segues into prostitution and is given a posh flat in a good
neighborhood. But her aim is to take more than a fee for her services, so she hides a tape recorder...
