Rooster Cogburn

Ample proof that even an excellent cast can't save a faulty script, especially if it's a sequel to an Oscar-winner. John Wayne again plays the part of Rooster Cogburn, for which he took Best Actor accolades in TRUE GRIT six years earlier. The story picks up with Wayne having the chance to get his badge back, after another of his trigger-happy incidents. He must capture a gang of bandits, led by Jordan, who have hijacked a shipment of nitroglycerin. Making things tougher, albeit more colorful, is bible-toting Hepburn's insistence on joining him.
