Gregson is cast as the title character, an Irish garbageman who is much admired for his athletic ability on the hurley field. Before long, he is boarding with an uppity widow who disapproves of his handling trash for a living but is well aware of the respect others have for his athletic skills. Gregson is attracted to the widow's niece (Pavlow), a plain, hard-working lass whose merits are thus far recognized only by her grandfather. Gregson surprises all (except the audience) when he takes the Pavlow's hand in marriage. leave a comment
