This made-for-cable movie followed the unholy troika of revisionist Romeo and Juliet adaptations that appeared in 1996-97 (e.g., Baz Luhrman's teeny-bopper version; the farce LOVE IS ALL THERE IS; and TROMEO AND JULIET).
