Who let the Riff Raff in? Thirty-three years after the outrageous original film changed midnight screenings forever, MTV is remaking The Rocky Horror Picture Show.According to Variety, the two-hour retread will adhere to the screenplay by Jim Sharman and Richard O'Brien used for the '75 version, though it may include music not used in the original.No casting decisions have been announced yet, but the faithful better start getting their water guns, toilet paper and rice ready; producer Lou Adler says he'd like the flick to be shown by next Halloween.So what do you say, "Science Fiction/Double Feature" fans? MonkAfter weeks of the USA Network (over)promoting the new season of Monk, the anal-retentive gumshoe is back and as in need of meds as ever. Tony Shalhoub continues to mine the hilarious quirks of his character, particularly during the opening scene when he compares the work of different shirt inspectors while shopping for clothes. (Monk says No. 8 is his "soul mate." He once wrote her a fan letter.) But what seems to be an extraneous gag quickly segues into the night's mystery. Ah, the Monk mysteries. Even a 5-year-old can solve them with just one peek at the episode's roster of guest stars. Hmmm, let's see, No-Name Actor No. 1, 2, 3... aha! I haven't watched Freddie since the pilot, which I found severely underwhelming, but somehow I found my TV on that channel and I was actually laughing. Admittedly the stuff I was giggling at was all from Brian Austin Green, who is almost as out of control as Neil Patrick Harris on How I Met Your Mother. I'd love to see these two together in a buddy movie. Anyway, Brian aka Chris commenting about how platform shoes are bad for your back but make your butt look great was wonderful. In case you missed it and were wondering how he knows: He got firsthand experience while dressed in drag as Frank-N-Furter to go see the Rocky Horror Picture Show in order to attract "freaky chicks." WB has benched for the time being both Living with Fran and Blue Collar TV, although both shows will remain in production. Melanie Griffith's Twins (the show, people) will take over Fran's slot, while an encore airing of Supernatural will be offered up to the 17 people who were choosing Blue Collar over the Housewives on Sunday at 9.
