Since striking out on his own, former Disney animator Don Bluth has created a number of lushly animated films (THE SECRET OF NIMH, AN AMERICAN TAIL, THE LAND BEFORE TIME, ALL DOGS GO TO HEAVEN) whose superior imagery is undercut by weak narratives.
