Robinson Crusoe On Mars

Loosely based on Daniel Defoe's classic tale, this surprisingly fresh science-fiction tale surpasses its moronic title. Mantee and West (who was soon to become Batman in the television series) are astronauts who are nearly smashed to smithereens by a passing meteor. West is killed, but Mantee is able to abandon ship. He lands on the dusty, desolate surface of Mars with Mona, the test monkey. Mantee eventually learns how to breathe the Martians' oxygen, eat their food, and drink their water. He befriends Lundin, an escaped slave, and teaches him English. Lundin's wicked captors begin bombing the surface of the red planet; but in the path of impending doom, the trio ...
