A Hollywood apotheosis of skirling pipes, swirling kilts, and knobby knees. The thinking person's hulking brute, Liam Neeson, plays the title character, an 18th-century Scottish Highlander pitted against venal English landlords and psychotic hired sabre Tim Roth.
