Ford turns in a tired performance as a newspaperman who is on the trail of a pair of murderers, ignoring the fact that he has just, on the same day, been married. The newlyweds are finally united only when both are kidnaped by the murderers, who turn out to be WW II fifth columnists. The two are rescued, and the villains captured, with the assistance of police reporter Ford's gangster acquaintances in a wind-up reminiscent of Fritz Lang's M (1931). Familiar territory is poorly trod upon with some weak and miscast roles. leave a comment
