Kenyon is the wife of a doctor newly stationed in Singapore who is tired of competing with her husband's profession. She winds up in the arms of Powell, who is reluctant to begin an affair. The doctor, however, jumps to conclusions, sending Kenyon into a greater fit of anger. She threatens to leave both men when the next boat arrives, but instead Powell gets on the boat, calmly walking away from the doctor and his loaded gun.
