On The Riviera

A remake of FOLIES BERGERE (1935), which had already been redone as THAT NIGHT IN RIO (1941), this film proved to be an excellent vehicle for the multi-talented Kaye. He's cast as an American nightclub entertainer working on the Riviera who bears a striking resemblance to a famed French aviator, also played by Kaye. When the entertainer is asked to double as the flier at an important party, the expected comedy of mistaken identities ensues. Confusion reaches its zenith the following morning, when Tierney, as the aviator's wife, awakens not knowing which of the men she spent the night with.
