The River's Edge

An outdoor crime drama that was the final big film directed by Dwan (who made about 400 of them), THE RIVER'S EDGE was shot in Mexico on a generous budget, and the actors made more of the script than was there. Milland is a thief who has just stolen a million dollars and is trying to get out of the US and down to Mexico, where he can spend his ill-gotten gains. In order to do that, he wants to get Quinn, an outdoorsman, to guide him across the border. Quinn is married to Milland's former sweetheart, Paget.
