An ordinary comedy that blatantly took much from THE LADY EVE, it was a disappointment when one considers all the excellent talent recruited for the film. Mamoulian had a three-picture agreement with Zanuck at Fox that included his stellar work on THE MARK OF ZORRO, followed by BLOOD AND SAND.
